Robert Kinzer, President
Mr. Kinzer was a Senior Financial Management Analyst with the Federal Insurance Deposit Corporation (FDIC) with a focus on community outreach and financial capability education. He retired from the FDIC with 30 years experience in March 2017. He has more than 25 years experience in the financial industry, including 23 years at financial regulatory agencies, including the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) and Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation. His experience spans the gamut, from brokering institutional stock trades, to financial analysis and reporting, to managing the closing of savings and loan institutions. He has a BA in Sociology/Anthropology, and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He attended Penn State University, Texas A&I University, & received his B.A. degree from the University of the District of Columbia.

Lanta Evans-Motte, MBA, RFC®, RICP®, VP Administration and Operations
Ms Evans-Motte is an entrepreneur, financial educator, and financial strategist with more than 25 years of financial consulting and business management experience. Through her financial advisory practice she provides personalized investment management, retirement planning, financial planning, and business consulting services. She has a B.S. in Accounting and M.B.A. in Finance/Information Systems from the RHSSB at the University of Maryland. She earned a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning, holds Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses & insurance licenses, and is a Registered Financial Consultant, and Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP). She was appointed to the Commission for Women, Prince Georges County; and is an Advisory Board Member, Prince Georges Community Foundation. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., NBMBAA, and Leadership Prince Georges, she has received numerous awards for her community leadership and involvement. She is a frequently sought after writer/contributor to national financial media and publications, and speaks regularly at seminars and conferences throughout the US.
Jim Thornton, MBA, Treasurer
Mr Thornton is a Financial Management Analyst with the FDIC and has 27 years of experience in financial management, general ledger operations, and financial statement analysis within the financial services industry. He has experience calculating and using advanced performance metrics such as annual cash flows, internal rate of return, net present value, capitalization rate, and return on investment to enhance informed business decision making. He has also performed analyses of business processes and operational efficiency. He owns a small property management company and has worked part-time for H&R Block as a tax preparer. He received a B.A. in Business Administration from Monmouth University, N.J.; and an M.B.A. in Financial Management from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. He is a member of the University of Maryland Alumni Association, National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), and Association of Financial Professionals.
Linda Currie, Vice President Marketing
Ms. Currie has been involved in numerous community projects such as: serving as a Citizen Commissioner for the Montgomery County Commission on Juvenile Justice, Serving as Chair for the Father’s and Friends Project for Montgomery East County Community Circle; Education Advocate & Facilitator for the Maryland Scholar Speakers Bureau and Fundraising Chair for Montgomery County Organizing for Action. Ms. Currie has been appointed to and currently serves on the board of directors for Lead4Life Inc. and the Montgomery County Delta Alumni Foundation. Ms. Currie is a proud graduate of Tennessee State University and Clark Atlanta University earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and an M.P.A. respectively. She most recently obtained a Project Management Certificate of Training from Howard Community College. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Lisa Miller Scott, MBA, Director
Lisa Miller Scott is a dedicated real estate professional and the broker/owner of Elevation Realty, LLC with over 16 years of experience. Ms. Scott is very active in the community as an advocate of home ownership and financial literacy. She regularly conducts seminars on home buying and financial literacy issues for local civic and housing counseling agencies, and takes an active role in the legislative process as it relates to housing issues and financial literacy education. She formerly served as Executive Director of the Association of African-American Financial Advisors, as well as the Administrator for the Coalition for Home Ownership Preservation in Prince George’s County. Ms. Scott holds a B.S. degree from Hampton University and an MBA from the University of Maryland. She also holds several professional designations, including Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) and Seller Representative Specialist (SRS); and is a certified CreditSmart™ Instructor.
Anya Beverly, CAPM ®, CSM ®, Director
Anyalewechi Nkululeko also goes by ‘Anya Beverly’ professionally and has been providing financial education to families around the DC metropolitan area for several years. She is passionate about helping the community and believes it is her personal responsibility to educate as many families in the community as possible.
Anya is an entrepreneur, project manager, licensed insurance agent in the state of Maryland and Washington D.C., and a single mom. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from DeVry University and is a Certified Scrum Master ® and Certified Associate Project Manager ®, and soon to be Six Sigma Greenbelt, with several years of experience working in Information Technology (IT) for federal government spaces. Anya is a catalyst for positive change and legacy development.
Deetra Whatley, Director
Deetra Whatley is a financial professional with more than 20 years of work experience. She is active in her community and led 7-month dFree financial program cohorts for the past 3 years.
