Homeownership is the key to building wealth for most families. While LIFE has consistently conducted homeownership seminars since its inception, we also recognized at that time that it was important to make sure that families were financially prepared to keep and maintain their homes once they were in them. As such, we have regularly participated in seminars, written articles, and provided training and resources to educate consumers regarding homeownership, credit and debt management, real estate investing, predatory loans, and foreclosure prevention resources.
Strategic Partnerships for Homeownership/Foreclosure Prevention Programs
Coalition for Homeownership Preservation in Prince Georges County
The Coalition for Homeownership Preservation in Prince George’s County was formed in 2007 by public and private sector leaders to address the high number of foreclosures occurring in Prince Georges County. The goal of the Coalition is to strengthen homeowner assets and neighborhood stability in the Prince George’s County area by helping troubled borrowers and by increasing homeownership success.
LIFE is a former member of the Coalition’s Steering Committee and we have provided strategic assistance to the Coalition with their marketing and community outreach efforts. We have assisted in the development of a Coalition Brochure, Coalition Newsletter and Coalition/LIFE Housing and Foreclosure Prevention Resource Directory.
National Community Reinvestment Coalition
The National Community Reinvestment Coalition is an association of more than 600 community-based organizations that promote access to basic banking services including credit and savings, to create and sustain affordable housing, job development and vibrant communities for America's working families.
